This coming week!

We have a lot of stuff to accomplish this week. Some of which we have prepared or started on today.

For instance today Malcolm started a new Air Pet concept and created some additional artwork for Stevens Monster Mayhem.

I managed to finalize some design ideas today with a discussion with Steven & Malcolm who helped a lot. I completed some PR work and arranged for tomorrows meeting. We also received new SFX from Garry. I emailed Alex to have them implemented.

Steven worked on a new game called jump. We hope to share some more details soon. We have a few additions we want to add to it, but it shouldn’t take long. Then we can move on to the pie eating game we have planned and written out.

Alex has managed to get in an example prototype of some two additions we wanted to add to Little Monsters Grand Adventure. We hope to finish these up with some artwork and smoothing out functionality.

Week Update

We managed to get through quite a lot of stuff this week. As you may have noticed we managed to get an additional new short created for Monster Mayhem and some testing completed for both Air Balloon Game & Monster Mayhem.

Moving forward Alex will be finishing up additional bugs on Air Balloon game, Implementing the new pets and dynamics. Alex will also be working out our screen sizing for all the devices and will be testing a method he reckons will automatically adjust the resolution and UI without much effort on our part.

Malcolm will be making any additional art for the current shorts for Monster Mayhem that are still missing as well as the additional art for the future shorts that Steven will be making this week.

As said, Steven will be moving forward with Monster Mayhem, implementing any new art and making the other shorts. Once things are complete I usually take what he does and I try and break the game, outline balancing issues and recommend changes or improvements.

My work this week includes further detailing the next 3 shorts for Monster Mayhem, testing both Air Balloon & Monster Mayhem personally and then testing it with testers to get as much feedback as possible.

Garry has a soundtrack and some of the SFX ready for Alex to implement into the Air Balloon Game. We are hoping that Alex can get them in so we and Garry can test it out and make any changes.

We have a meeting this Monday to discuss what additional work we can do moving forward as well as discuss what we can do and have ready in order to go to an Indie demonstration event in Novemeber in Scotland, United Kingdom.

Small Update

Hi everyone!

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks updates from members of the team. Garry will be the only exception to this rule, because whilst he works on the game he also has multiple other projects. Don’t worry Garry’s Music and SFX will be amazing and I am sure you will all love his music. Instead whenever Garry sticks something up we will post information not soon after to either let you hear or to know what was completed.

Today I managed to tie up some loose ends such as fixing some parts of our Youtube Channel, some PR work and creating another video for Garry who reckons he will have a music draft tonight! Malcolm is working on his 2nd Air Pet, and it’s coming along really well! Steven is working on the third level of the Party Game now called “Monster Mayhem”. Alex is fixing the last of the tweaks in the  Air Balloon game.

Come tomorrow, we will be holding a small meeting that will go over this weeks progress and what to do moving forward. What we will be doing is covering the third mini game design document on a programming, artistic and design level to finalize some of the points and make sure everyone is on the same page.

This weeks progress

We have come leaps and bounds with the 2nd Mini Game. We have a more solid design and we have 2 of the 14(aimed) short mini games in the party game working with the appropriate art. Some tweaks need to be made, but it scales in difficulty and it collects score.

In other news Malcolm has been making artwork for both the Party Game and the needed artwork for the survival option of our Air Balloon game.

Alex is now working on survival, but we still need a few small tweaks for Adventure mode before we can test/show it off. We nearly have all the dynamics in for the fire man’s section of the biome which we will use as an example for the rest of the biomes and the pet areas that reside within it.

I have made up a recording of the Air Balloon Game to give to Garry to start making SFX & Music for it and the base game when we meet with him early next week. I have also created some additional future design concepts in regards to Phase 3. I updated our Gallery and created additional cards for the game along with some PR work.

We have a meeting tonight where we will go over our progress and discuss our steps moving forward into next week.

Coming on leaps and bounds

Our Party mini game is coming along great and the art looks great! Hopefully we can share some information or screenshots in the not too distant future. Its coming along well and at a good pace, which is needed as we have plenty to do, if we want to attend Games Expo Scotland!

As you may have seen on our Twitter, Alex has manage to incorporate some dynamics into the one of the fire areas. Some things still need tweaked but its looking great. Once its ready I will ask Malcolm to make a GIF or we can even make a video to demonstrate it when the Air Balloon Game is wrapped up.

Working Hard

Today I have been working on a new method of working so that our team is more efficient overall and to reduce any confusion with assets or update. This system allows everyone to see what is done, what needs reviewed and what has been implemented.

Malcolm has been working on the background for the new pet which we will include below. Let us know what you think.

Alex has been working hard on the programming side of things. The mini game is now only really needing a few bug fixes & tweaks and the score system implemented.

Garry is messing around with some new concepts which we are excited to hear, and actually sent us a great concept recently.

The Dragon

Hey guys,

We are pleased to reveal our new pet the Dragon which is a playable pet for the Fire Area. Below you will be able to see a GIF of one of its animations and how it looks. Malcolm has been working hard on it so any feedback is appreciated.

I have finished all the sprite sheets so it’s already ready to go into the game. I also spent sometime working out the scoring and star ratings for the mini game. Alex has been hard at work adding the art work and features to the mini game and fixing bugs.

We had a small discussion with Garry Yesterday about music and have a more clear and concise direction. Garry will be joining tonight’s meeting to discuss music integration into the engine and to potentially let us hear his updated music. Looking forward to it!

For now here is the new pet! We hope you like it

More Cards Complete

I spent the better part of today creating additional cards for the game revolving around the additional assets that Malcolm has completed over the last few days. We still have a handful of new cards to make and as such will be created as soon as the assets are ready and as always Malcolm is hacking away at his checklist.

Alex has updated the Air Balloon game adding in some of Malcolm’s artwork and fixing a few bugs. We still have plenty to be implemented and some bugs needing fixed. Once the game is stable enough we will have a video up and ready for you to check out.

New Pet in the works

Hey Guys,

Malcolm has just finished fleshing out the 3D model of our new pet. Last time I heard he was beginning the rigging process which allows it to be animated realistically. Its coming along really well and when its textured I’m sure he will give me a screenshot to put up.

The first mini game is coming along well. Alex has got the spawning working more to what we originally intended and the map has been adjusted in terms of movement and functionality. Still some stuff to do but we should be showing it off hopefully not to far in the near future.

In preparation for Alex and Malcolm finishing their work, I work on some of the 3rd Mini Game design document. The reason is so that when they finish up with the first mini game we can review the other two we have to make sure it’s going to be plausible or needs to be reconsidered.

Storming ahead with The Checklists

Yesterday I went through the various phases and wrote a checklist for Malcolm & Alex. The list contained needed art, fixes and feature that need to be added to the game. It gives us all a visual idea with what needs to be done for each phase. Even though for Alex Phase 1 is technically complete I still go through it and find little things that need to be fixed.

Malcolm has stormed ahead with his art assets and is making great progress with the list and we get to have a meeting with Alex tonight to see how he has progressed. We managed to see the latest version of the air balloon game and its coming along really well. Cannot wait to reveal it.
